I have not taken any classes this year except for a portrait class in the fall. Ugh. Maybe thats why. Yesterday I did begin a short 5 week class at KAC- Kirkland Art Center- with Ralph Murray. So glad I did. Worked on this Maine shingled building I had started. Not finished but htought I'd post. Not sure about the windows???

Garden time

Its been a difficult winter in cny with 150 inches of snow. Thats a guesstimate. I just had to show off last years rose bush which sits outside my garage. It must have been seven feet tall! I save my coffee grinds & egg shells to deposit on it. Guess it worked!

OK, I promised a photo of Murphy, here he is with the sun reflecting on him in my canoe on Oneida Lake in beautiful central NY. He loves going out in the canoe. He stands in the bow, kind of like Leonardo in the Titanic or in the middle trying to catch water being thrown by the paddling. Hes quite the guy.

As a member of the Rome Art Association, I had 2 pieces entered in the member show in the fall. Purple Iris won a first in the craft division. This was quilted using the snippet method. Designed from a photo I had taken of my daughter purple Iris.

New Blog

Good morning! Created this blog to share my art journey, daily projects and their progress, my many travels with their photos for you to enjoy. This all is a learning process for me. Four shorts months ago I created my etsy shop- criscreates.etsy.com. Please visit me there. It has a combination of fine & fiber art.
Being a dog lover and owner of Murphy, a five year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I of course put brush to paper to paint others' beloved pets and creted Paws and Claws by Cris.
Again my first post and must do some learning on posting photos for you to enjoy. Murphy will be first then hope to include works in progress. Made great progress on Bailey. a Yorkshire Terrier, last night.
Breakfast next.
